The WA Department of Communities recently contacted us to produce a video showcasing the development of housing out in the remote community of Tjuntjuntjara.
This was an enriching experience that took us 8.5 hours north-east of Kalgoorlie-Boulder by car, where we spent 2 days in town filming the construction work and also witnessed amazing sunsets in one of the most remote communities in the world.
The Department of Communities implemented a scheme called the National Partnership on Remote Housing, which is an agreement reached between the Australian States, Territories and the Commonwealth to fund indigenous housing in remote areas. 12 homes will be refurbished, another six will be replaced, and four new homes will be added to the total.
The community was very welcoming and vibrant, and we really appreciate the chance to document this important construction work that will ultimately have huge benefits for the community.
